The remote verification process allows users to digitally verify credentials for essential benefits while also preventing fraud.
- The Louisiana Workforce Commission uses the remote verification process for unemployment benefits, requiring users to verify through their LA Wallet before receiving benefits.
- Louisiana’s Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) also utilizes this process for users to remotely access their Disaster Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP).
- Nearly 160,000 cases of DSNAP benefits were remotely verified with no fraud after Hurricane Ida and roughly 50,000 cases were remotely verified with no fraud after Hurricane Laura.

This system showed that out of 1,200 of Louisiana’s N-EMTs, nearly 15% of drivers were ineligible. By reporting these ineligibilities to the state, the system helped lowered N-EMT fraud and prevent waste caused by the misuse of these vehicles and services.
